Lakeside Wedding at Fair Haven Camps Brooks | Casey and Sam

No wind nor rain or hurricane would have stopped this wedding day from happening!  This sweet couple and I had braved their engagement session last winter in the freezing cold so we could handle a little rain.  What I appreciate most about them is the quiet yet unrestrained love they have for each other. Together they are just adorable!

As I arrived at the lakeside cottage, on the property of Fair Haven Camps, where the girls were getting ready the first thing I saw was Casey’s giant smile as Jessie touched up her lips.  I felt relieved that she was calm and collected even with the rain falling with the remnants of Hurricane Dorian. She smiled and told me the rain was not bothersome one bit!

I was just as pleased to be greeted by joking and laughing coming from the men’s chambers as they tied ties for each other, and with the help of a few ladies, we pinned the gorgeous boutonniere’s on them.  Sam was calm as well and all smiles, just like his beautiful bride he was about to see!

As Casey walked down the aisle I took a look back to see Sam smiling ear to ear. The groom’s expression is always my favorite!  He looked so handsome and full of love for his bride and the look on Casey’s face said it all. As they promised before God and their family to love and commit themselves to one another forever, I really got choked up! Love. Sweet. Love.

While getting ready, Casey’s mom gave her a sweet note with instructions for her something borrowed; something blue and a coin in her shoe which flew across the dance floor during the shoe game! Oops! They did a great job answering questions “correctly” and I thought it was funny when Sam knew whatever answer he gave to the question would get him in trouble with his wife that he just dropped his shoes to the floor  instead! Too Funny. Hard to photograph when you are laughing so much!

The best man, Tim, indulged us all in the story of how growing up with Sam was filled with antics including the “Good Luck” dance that they would do when they had asked their mom to spend the night at each other’s house that included pointing their index fingers in the air and doing a little dance that included twirling around in a circle!  They had a great time together growing up together and Tim saw that Sam had a great life except he did not have anyone to share it with until Casey came along. Anyone could see how truly happy Sam was and that she was the one.

Just before the cake cutting, Casey asked me if they were all done with their photos!  When I said yes I saw this little rascal-ish twinkle in her eye like something was about to go down.  I think Sam knew what was about to happen.  What a good sport!  Can I just say that those cupcakes from Sugar Tree were delicious,. I might have sampled the Coconut and Maple Walnut, maybe!

The rain stopped and the sky began to clear a tiny bit and the bride and groom danced with their loving family and all their friends.  Friends that have been there for them for so long. You could sense real love and support for the couple and how truly happy everyone was for them!  Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Richardson may you spend the rest of your life loving each other deeply and putting the other first.

With so much gratitude in my heart for your trust in me, I thank you for allowing me into your day and lives.  It was a good day! All the best to you both.
