I first met this sweet couple at my Christmas Mini session last year. They came with their beautiful boys, Bruin and Daniel. Both boys are so charming and sweet. Heather told me that day that she knew that Alex was going to propose because he let the cat out of the bag while he was sleeping! He was sleep talking and telling her about the ring he hand picked for her. The boys are pretty excited to have Heather as their step-mother and had made sure that I was very aware of that!
Alex is a detective and they met on a case they were investigating and I guess that was not all he was investigating! I think they found something far better than they were looking for. Even though the ring was not a surprise that Alex had purchased it, the proposal was indeed still very special. The love and admiration between these these two that is so obvious and especially for their boys. The one thing I never had to ask them to do was kiss. They certainly have that covered and we practiced for the big day!
I have to say I was so impressed at how well the boys did in the windy, cold weather. They are so adorable and have the best smiles! I spotted that little wooden birch heart and gave it to Bruin, the brave one that happened to be out with us at that moment. How ironic to find that at their engagement session. I then had a thought to use it to document with some of the photos so I asked him if I could borrow it with a promise to return it safe and sound along with that GORGEOUS ring! At the very end he approached me and gave me those eyes that could melt a snowman and with just a smile I knew exactly what he wanted …his sweet little heart back.
I am looking forward to your wedding day knowing that August will be much, much warmer! Thank you for trusting my judgement when deciding on an alternate location to battle the cold and wind. All of you were so very brave. Until that special day arrives, I will be dreaming of a warm summer day and those beautiful smiles again!
