Katie and Doug | Coastal Maine Engagement

I am inspired by the love I see in the eyes of Katie and Doug; the kind that awakens the soul.  In this great big world it never ceases to amaze me how one soul mate finds another. For Katie and Doug it was recognizing how much they had in common that initially attracted them to each other. Katie saw a handsome, romantic man and Doug saw a beautiful, independent woman.

Doug moved here from Pennsylvania and met a real Maine girl.  They went out on their first date while Katie was terribly sick but didn’t want to cancel and disappoint him.  She was sniffling the entire night at the pub and it was the commitment that Doug saw in her that was  so appealing to him.

Last July, with their parents along, they went to beautiful Botanical Gardens to admire all the smells and sights.  Doug had another sight he was looking forward to and that would be Katie shaking her head and saying yes when he asked her the most important question he had asked her so far.  As they strolled out onto the dock and Katie was taking it all in, for over 5 minutes, Doug had been behind her down on one knee waiting for her to turn around. Well he did indeed keep waiting until she finally noticed that everyone got really quiet behind her so she turned around to see that all she had ever hoped for and with their family there to witness the love they share, Katie said “YES!”

The soon to be Mr. & Mrs Lauver are planning a Fall wedding. They love to travel and have shared many adventures together already so their theme is travel!  I am looking forward to seeing your heart and creativity you are infusing into your wedding day.

What a sweet love story that I have been given the awesome opportunity to capture and share with all their family and friends.  You two are simply adorable together and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for trusting me with your Best Day Ever.
