Captain Nickels Inn in Searsport was a must for Kristal and Joseph’s perfect winter wedding day. The skies were clear after dropping a bit of fresh snow the day before and the temps were more than we could ask for in February on the coast of Maine. There was a flurry of activity and everyone was all smiles as the Innkeepers, Dawn and Cassie, perfected every detail. As I entered the bridal suite I could smell the hairspray and hear laughter among friends and family. I knew this day would be so tender and meaningful but just WOW! I quickly fell in love with their family and friends and the support they were shown.
Two plus years ago they “met” on an app but what they didn’t know is that they lived in the same apartment building and right next to each other. If that was not meant to be I am not sure what is! Getting to know one another until the wee hours of the morning sitting on her couch was the best part and they became inseparable.
On a cold February day, much like the day they were married a year later, Joe took Kristal to a romantic Bed and Breakfast to propose to her. The thing is he was so nervous that he couldn’t propose to her at the waterfall then again at dinner he didn’t. On the way back to the Inn he got brave and made a detour at a covered bridge and dramatically dropped to one knee and popped the question and well you know what happened next.
Seeing Joe with their beautiful daughter, Lily, was one of the sweetest moments as they danced a special dance together. I am not sure what it was but it was so fun and they were pretty cute together. My heart was full at the end of the day watching the newlyweds get lost in each other’s embrace and little smooches here and there. Winter weddings can be tricky but this one…PERFECT!
Wishing you all the happiness that marriage holds for you all, your daughter and your whole beautiful family! Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Berger!
