A spectacular wedding of Hannah Ruth Hopkins to Andrew James Pierce at Stonecrest in Waldo, Maine is one that I will never forget as Andrew is my oldest and only son.  He married the love of his life; a love that this mom always knew he would find one day but seemed to come slowly.

You might want to grab yourself a nice hot cup of tea or coffee and snuggle down in your comfiest chair for this one!

Andrew came to me 3 years ago one fall day and just by his behavior I knew something very serious was up.  I always know when something BIG is about to happen because he gets a little smirish smile on his face, clears his throat several times along with saying umm a few times.  This happened when he crashed his cars each time and then one of mine…maybe more than one and other various very serious things.   We all attempted to guess and we said a girlfriend and he let us in on his secret.

He met Hannah in an online gaming chat and they sparked a friendship for a year.  One day he mentioned her name to me and I teased him and said is she your girlfriend and he said no she doesn’t like me like that.  I said well that can change and it certainly did.  Fast forward, she flew in a few weeks later to meet all of us then he drove to Indianna to meet her family and moved her here.

It was said by her Father, who married them, that he knew it would take a really special guy to “git” (he’s from the west) her and I was saying the exact same thing here and praying for a girl who would capture his heart and love him unconditionally.

They were engaged on Valentine’s Day this year.  It seemed like the time flew by and we were at rehearsal and meeting her sweet family with everyone gathering to make their day super special.  Andrew’s dad built them an amazing arbor and he and his sister worked together to assemble and decorate it.  The rain was inevitable so we moved it all indoors including the arbor which barely made it inside!

Battling the wind and rain to have their first look was no easy task and so, so cold. Their faces just lit up that giant arena and we had so much fun getting some photos taken.  They included their faithful companion, Ash.  He is such a ham and loved to run around and get his photo taken.

Sitting and listening to their vows; I could just feel the love they have for one another.  Andrew talked about her being the better half in the relationship and I could see from her expression that she felt just the opposite and that there is what will stand the test of time.

There were so many little touches that went into their day and so many people to thank who gave of their time and talents to create such a beautiful space.  Hannah wanted to honor her mom’s memory by asking the attendees to wear a sunflower pin, her mom’s favorite flower, to show her presence and watch over the day and saved her a seat front and center at the ceremony.  I just loved that!

We could not have asked for a more beautiful day, no wind nor rain nor cold could have kept us from being excited and filled with so much joy.  Hannah and Andrew make each other a better person and we are better people knowing and loving them.  Congratulations to the new Mr & Mrs!  You are so loved!
