Boothbay Harbor Inn was the perfect spot for a Maine summer wedding on the coast for Meghan and Ryan.  Boothbay is near and dear to Meghan’s heart as she grew up there and her grandfather’s home is a few doors down where all the girls got ready.  It was a day full of love and laughter and of course Happily Ever After for the two of these sweet souls.  The bride and groom were both a little nervous but so so ready to be married to each other, finally!

They met at the University of Maine in Farmington where they both played basketball and not only fell in love more with the game but with each other.  During the toasts, Ryan’s good friend shared how he called him and said that he had heard he was dating Meghan and Ryan said that they were just friends.  That lasted a few days!  Ryan called him shortly after and said that yes, yes indeed, they were dating!

They have shared so much already, including their sweet pup, Winnie, whom I had the pleasure of meeting at their engagement photos.  Winnie is loved by all and they even had treats to take home for their guests’ pets in her honor.  How very sweet!

Meghan arrived right on time in her father’s boat which made her entry even more special.  The best part for me was Ryan’s reaction to seeing her for the first time and becoming a little emotional. He always appears so calm and collected with a big smile on his face so it was really special to see his reaction.

They have a very large “family” from UMF that came to celebrate and support them along with their family.  I could see right away that this big group of college and high school friends, fellow teachers and coaches were a tight group.  They all share so much in common and the one thing that stood out to me was how they all agreed that Meghan and Ryan were meant for one another for a lifetime of happiness.

Their group of friends were such fun and full of comfort and support right from the start.  I could see it with all the girls and their sweet reaction to seeing Meghan in her dress for the first time and the group of guys trying to help Ryan with his tie and suspenders.  We all laughed and had so much fun taking photos celebrating the newlyweds.

Their reception was everything I knew it would be, fun-filled, laughter and great food!  You might not have guessed but there are a few really special little people in their lives.  Their little niece, Mara, and their coaches son and daughter who were the Ring Bearer and Flower girl. Mari, would only smile and look if the Flower girl and Ring Bearer were right behind me talking to her showing her the flower basket!   Andrew and Avery were the center of attention and why wouldn’t they be!  Between Andrew’s break dancing and Avery’s huge smile you could see that everyone from UMF just adores them.

For a day when the weather was a little unsettling, I thought it was spectacular.  A big congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Rice, may your love grow even stronger and continue to sprinkle all over those around you!  Thank you for trusting me with your most important day!
